Big is Back! This hints at nothing but an upcoming launch for Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in India. Xiaomi India is hosting an event on July 18, to announce their upcoming smartphone. The tagline, “Big is Back” clearly shattered the dreams of Mi 6 India’s release. The phone has a huge 6.4-inch display and is quite bulky to carry as well. Another reason for using “Big is Back” might be the massive battery capacity of 5300 mAh. This is the successor of Mi Max, which was launched last year. Also, this will be a premium budget phone, expected to be priced around Rs. 20000. In this post, we will discuss the specifications of Xiaomi Mi Max 2.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 : Built and Design
“Big is Back” is obviously a monstrous display of 6.4-inch with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is built on a clean and lean design, with fine detailing. The phone has a full metal unibody design. This phone is obviously not for everyone, as this is almost a tablet and will be difficult to handle. Dimensionally, the phone measures around 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm and weighs around 210 g. It provides dual sim feature, that is hybrid in nature. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is provided for screen protection.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 : Memory and Performance
Mi Max 2 has an Octa-core Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625, clocked at 2.0 GHz. Well, Xiaomi uses the same processor for Redmi Note 4 as well, that is available at a lower price tag. It is powered by a 4 GB RAM and comes in two variants, one with 64 GB internal storage and other with 128 GB. Memory can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 256 GB. This will restrict users to rely on a single sim, due to hybrid port.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 : Camera
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a 12 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture. Some of its functionalities include phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. It supports video recording of 2160p at 30fps and 720p at 120fps. It has a primary camera of 5 MP.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 : Other Specifications
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It has a rear fingerprint sensor and other sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass. The best part about being big is having a non-removable Li-Ion battery of 5300 mAh.The battery is something, which makes the best of Xiaomi. Also, the conventional USB port is replaced by type C USB port. Mi Max 2 will be available in Gold and Matte Black color variants.
Though this is an impressive device, yet it was a disappointment for Mi lovers, as it was expected that Mi 6 will be launched on July 23. Yet, it will not be a shock that Mi Max 2 may become an overnight success.
