The star-eyed iPhone aspirants are buzzing about Apple’s new launch, the iPhone SE. And why shouldn’t they? After the release of iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S, it wasn’t expected of Apple to launch a comparatively cheaper phone given the benchmark specifications set by the former two versions. So, all you folks out there who want to own an Apple without its trademark burning-a-hole-in-your-pocket liability, the iPhone SE has arrived.
The iPhone SE is designed just like the former 4-inch handset iPhone 5S with compact design, metallic body and sharp edges that makes it easy to be operated single handedly and slips into your pocket effortlessly. It weighs just 113 grams and is about 0.5 mm thicker than 6S (yes, that was a little disappointing but really?). The SE comes in four colors just like 6S, space grey, rose gold, silver and gold. It also offers Touch ID as in the iPhone 6. For naïve users, Touch ID is fingerprint sensor built into the Home button.
Compared to the iPhone 6 and 6S designs that introduced curvy edges and a bigger display, SE might disappoint many who have been using the giant-screen mobile phones. But as all good things come in small packages, with its 4-inch (diagonal) display, it offers LED-backlit widescreen multi-touch feature and 1136‑by‑640‑pixel resolution at 326 ppi that means you get a fair amount of sharpness on a small screen.
A 12-megapixel rear camera with Live Photos, True Tone Flash, Sapphire crystal lens is what makes SE take a wide leap from its size-mate 5S. The upgraded camera with f/2.2 and 1/3″ sensor is capable of recording good quality 1080p videos at 30/60/120 frames per second or 720 p at 240 fps or 4K at 30fps- same as in the iPhone 6S. It also supports simultaneous 4K video and 8MP image recording. So capturing those high quality spectacular landscapes and candid moments with incredible filter support makes it worthy of its brand value. It offers a 1.2 megapixel front camera; not so acceptable considering the price you have to shell out but enough to record 720p HD videos.
Based on the iOS 9.3.2, iPhone SE works on a dual-core 1.84 GHz Twister CPU and a six-core graphics. A 2 GB RAM (double the RAM featured in iPhone 5S) ensures you do multiple tasks effortlessly without lag. The iPhone SE also features Apple A9 chipset. That means the CPU and GPU performance is at par with the 6S range.
STORAGE AND BATTERY
The iPhone SE offers 16/64 GB internal storage. While the iPhone 5S also offered 32GB internal memory, several other features in SE comply for this little demerit which is not really a demerit considering more storage capacity is always better.
Well, the battery life is what we always crib about once we start using a phone. The iPhone 5S was lauded for its 1560mAh battery but it has been further boosted in the iPhone SE to 1624mAh. Isn’t that delightful?
That sexy voice can now be heard without having to hold the Home button. Yes, like the iPhone 6S, the iPhone SE features always-on SIRI to assist you. You need only say, “Hey Siri”. Cool, isn’t it?
This is what you all must have hastily scrolled down to. Well, with its flagship features, Apple iPhone SE is available at varied prices depending on the color and internal memory you choose to buy. It will cost you between INR 35,975 to INR 37,999. Value for money? Spare some time to read below.
iPhone SE is, to be precise, iPhone 6S embodied in the iPhone 5S. If you are that swanky customer looking for the brand value while compromising on the screen dimensions and the price, then do not think twice, iPhone SE will not disappoint you. Even not so, if you loved the iPhone 5S but held yourself back fearing no update support in future, then just go for the SE. You get the same look with so much more to drool over. AND for the rest of you all, if you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have an iPhone. Wink emoticon.
