After the massive success of the iPad Air 2, Apple launched the iPad Air Pro (12.9 inches).Apple launched the 12.9 inches version last year, with a vision to create a bigger real-estate for the media consumption and capabilities the smaller version provided.

It consists of a massive 12.9 inches Retina Display, with a resolution of 2732 by 2048 pixels, making a pixel density of 264 ppi. We’re calling it massive because the 12.9 inches iPad seems fairly big as compared to the smaller 9.7 inches model. The screen has a finger-print resistant oleophobic, fully-laminated coating, which provides an anti-reflective screen.

The back of a full unibody aluminium design, which comes in 3 colours: Silver, Gold, and Space Grey. At just 6.9 mm thickness, this falls into the category of the slimmest tablets ever, and there is more chance for this iPad to be slimmer than the smartphone you’re holding. But it weighs heavier than the regular iPad 9.7″, at 714gm.

Processor and RAM

This iPad consists of an Apple A9X Chip, with an M9 co-processor. The A9X is a dual-core chip, clocked at 2.26Ghz, with a PowerVR Series 7 GPU, AND 4GB RAM.

The processor provides nifty processing, intense graphics, and a fast performance, without any lags, whatsoever.

Although, it would hardly seem appropriate to click pictures from such a huge tablet, but for many other purposes, the iSight camera (Back Camera) comes with an 8MP model, without flash, along with a 1.2MP Camera, with 720 pixel HD Video recording.

The front cam is great for FaceTime or Skype video calling.

The Apple Pencil & The “PC” Functionality

This requires a separate mention, because it might really change how tablets function.

Apple promoted the iPd Pro with the ideology of it, replacing the PC, and that it might change how the iPad would revolutionise Computing.

The Apple Pencil is really useful with applications such as AutoCAD, Concepts, Note-writing Applications, etc… It is useful for pressure sensitivity, precision drawing, writing notes, and much more.

It is really responsive, and can be termed as an ideal tool for artists who use the iPad for creativity, and media-formation.

The Pencil though, needs charging, and runs a massive 12 hours on a single charge.

Talking about other PC Functionalities, the iPad now supports a Smart Keyboard, which allows easy typing, as compared to the onscreen keyboard. Along with that, you also get a powerful 4-sided stereo-quality speaker-set that provides loud and clear sound.

The iPad provides a complete 10-hour battery life, and is great for binge watching movies, playing intensive games, working on the Internet, editing 4K Videos, or just listening to some music. iOS also supports Mutli-Window support, which is actually helpful to run multiple functions at the same time.

**Believe me or not, this Review is being typed on an iPad, with 2 applications running simultaneously on the same screen, and trust me, it is quite useful.

To say the least, the iPad Pro is a big improvement to the previous models of the tablet, but the 12.9 inches size may not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you’re looking for easy accessibility, along with PC-like functionality, we would suggest the smaller versions of the iPad, although if you crave for a bigger screen, and if you’re one who’s ready to shell out a massive 70K, then this might just be the tablet for you.

Though, this might not be the one that could replace your PC, just yet.
